This a NON-Smoking Guesthouse
Arriving at Crompton House, we have a hard surfaced flat tarmac drive. Entrance into the property is via a foyer which has two steps into it then another two steps into the building. We have three ground floor rooms one of which has a wide entrance door and a walk-in shower room; please note that the door of the shower and shower room is of standard size. The breakfast room is on the lower ground floor down a normal flight of stairs. We do provide breakfast in the room if getting to the breakfast room is not possible.
Terms and Conditions
For all bookings from 1st November 2009 Crompton House regrets that we cannot accept children under the age of 10 years old.
Arrival times – You must give an arrival time on booking, we do not accept any guests into our guest house after 8.30pm unless it has been agreed in advance of your stay, a late check in fee is payable of £10 for every hour or part thereof after 8.30pm up to and no later than 11pm. Late check in is not always available and we must be notified, unless pre arranged 48hrs before arrival.No guests are checked in after this time to avoid disturbing our guests.
Departure – Departure time is 10.15 am if you wish to stay longer this must be agreed in advance and this depends on the booking time of the next guest. If it has been agreed to keep your room longer on departure day you must leave no later than 11.30 am and £10 will be added to your account.Up to 12pm £20 will be added to your account.
Cancellations – If you have to cancel your reservation, please advise us immediately.
The Guest house will retain the deposit equal to one nights booking as a NON refundable deposit.
If notice of cancellation is 7 days or less we reserve the right to seek compensation up to 100% of the cost of the stay. At all times we will try and re-let the room, if this happens we will reimburse minus bank charges and an administration fee. The person who made the booking is responsible for all costs.
In all cases we will always try and accommodate you in the room you have booked, but in the rare circumstances we will upgrade you free of charge to another room equal or better to the room you booked.
Or we will re-imburse you with no penalty the full cost of your booking.
In the very rare event of a double booking we will try to put you in another guest house or will give you full refund if we are unable to.
Special offers: – Please note on our special 3 night offer you are charged the full room rate for the first two nights and the third night is discounted, special offers are only in off peak season.
Bookings made via online web sites, terms and conditions are printed on that site.
We recommend that holiday insurance should be taken.
Please remember that whilst the room is in your care you are solely responsible for it.
All damage must be paid for. We advise you to take out have holiday insurance to cover any damage whilst room is in your care.
It is now against the law to smoke on our premises, please note that we now have to report people who have been smoking to the Council for prosecution if convicted they will issue you with a £250 fine.
Non Smoking and Takeaway Food Policy – We are a strictly NON Smoking Guest House, if you insist on smoking or leave our rooms with heavy smoke odour during your stay in our rooms, a fee will be charged to your account to pay for the full cleaning of the room. ( a fee will be charged).
If we cannot re-let the room to the next guest or they refuse the room because of the smoke odour we will invoice you for lost revenue. We do not allow takeaway foods of any description in our rooms also due to the odour being left or damage from it that may occur ( if you insist in bringing in takeaway food into our rooms a fee will be charged for any damage caused and to get rid of the odour).
We will not take anything off your card unless you disregard our No smoking policy, all damage must be paid for.
Whatever means of payment you choose to use, a credit or debit card, must be given on booking.
Credit Card Payments: – If paying by credit card, due to high bank charges a £3 surcharge will be added to your booking fee.. Debit card no surcharge. No card payments accepted for payments under £50, again this due to high bank charges. Cash is also accepted.
Valid card details must be given.
We pre-authorise card details for security reasons, if the card is INVALID or KEYED ENTRY NOT ALLOWED, or any details do not match, the booking will be cancelled. We will notify you of this by telephone, email or post.
Visa Electron Cards- We will not reserve a room if a telephone booking is made with this type of card.
We will accept Visa Electron payment if customer is present.
We do not accept children under the age of 10 years old and some rooms children are not allowed. On occasions we have had guests bring additional guests and ask if they can sleep in the same bed. As this has a serious effect on our fire certificate we would have to cancel your booking on arrival if we are full.
If we can accommodate the extra guests in additional rooms a fee of £100 per extra person is charged for the inconvenience room rate will not apply.
Unruly guests, we are members of a Q booking system and any badly behaved guests are entered into the Q booking register, as a result you may find it hard to make a booking in the future once entered on it.
